Cookie policy
Which cookies this website uses, why, and how you can accept, reject or change them at any time.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things such as your sign-in or the language you chose.
This policy also covers similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, which the portal can use to keep an unsent draft of a form.
How this site uses cookies
This website and the participant portal are run by the Brazil Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BBCCI). They use three categories of cookies: necessary, analytics and marketing.
Only necessary cookies are on by default. Analytics and marketing cookies are used only if you allow them. How BBCCI handles the information is explained in the privacy notice.
Necessary cookies
These cookies are needed for the site to work, so they are always on. They:
- protect forms and the site against misuse and attacks
- keep you signed in to the portal during your session
- remember the language you chose
- remember your cookie choice, so that the banner does not appear again on every page
Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies show which pages are visited and how the site is used, so that BBCCI can improve it. They are used only with your consent and are off by default.
Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies help BBCCI measure its campaigns, for example which advertisement or partner link brought you to the site. Content from social networks and video platforms that sets its own cookies also belongs to this category. These cookies are used only with your consent and are off by default.
Your choice
On your first visit, a banner offers three options: “Accept all”, “Reject all” and “Customise”. Rejecting is as easy and as visible as accepting. Nothing is pre-ticked, and continuing to browse does not count as consent.
Under “Customise” you can switch analytics and marketing cookies on or off separately. BBCCI keeps a record of your choice so that it can show what you agreed to.
Changing your mind
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. From then on, the site stops using the categories you switched off. Cookies already stored can be deleted in your browser.
Content from other services
Some pages show content from other services.
- Videos, where a page embeds one, come from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and load only after you press play; from then on YouTube handles the data under its own privacy policy.
- The city guide's map is drawn with map images from OpenStreetMap, loaded when you scroll to the map; the OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy applies to those requests.
Neither loads before you reach it. At that moment your browser connects to that service directly.
The cookies this site sets
This is the full list. Session cookies end with the session; the others expire after the time shown.
- made-in-bangladesh-expo-session — necessary; keeps you signed in to the portal and protects forms; ends after 240 minutes without activity.
- XSRF-TOKEN — necessary; protects forms against requests forged by other sites; 240 minutes.
- mbe_consent — necessary; the categories you allowed, so that the banner does not return; 180 days.
- mbe_consent_id — necessary; a random reference under which BBCCI records your choice; 180 days.
- mbe_device — necessary; set when you sign in to the portal, so that BBCCI can recognise the device and warn you by e-mail about a sign-in from a new one; 365 days.
- _ga and _ga_… — analytics (Google Analytics 4); set only after you allow analytics cookies and only once BBCCI connects Google Analytics to the site; up to two years, as set by Google.
Marketing: this site sets no marketing cookies of its own today. If BBCCI adds a campaign tool later, it will appear in this list and run only with your consent.
Besides cookies, your browser's local storage keeps a copy of your cookie choice, a note that you closed an announcement bar and, in the registration forms and the portal, unsent drafts of what you typed, so that nothing is lost. This information stays in your browser and is not sent to BBCCI.
Browser controls
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, parts of the site, such as signing in to the portal, may not work.
