Bangladesh exported US$38.7 billion of garments to the world in FY2025-26. Brazil is a smaller but growing destination: Bangladesh's exports to Brazil reached a record US$215 million in the same year, 92% of it garments (about US$198 million), and Brazil's own data show US$240 million of clothing imported from Bangladesh in 2025.

The lines Brazil bought most from Bangladesh in 2025 were men's cotton trousers and shorts, cotton T-shirts, man-made-fibre and cotton pullovers, men's cotton shirts and women's cotton trousers.

Brazil charges 35% import duty on every clothing line, with no preference for Bangladesh, plus PIS/COFINS-Importação and state ICMS. Portuguese-language labelling is mandatory for imported products, so agree label content with your buyer before production.

Certificates such as LEED, WRAP, OEKO-TEX, GOTS and ISO can be checked in public registers. Bring your certificate numbers so buyers can verify them.
