Bangladesh exported US$18.1 billion of woven garments in FY2025-26. US$91 million went to Brazil — 42% of Bangladesh's exports there — led by men's trousers and suits and men's shirts. In July–October 2026 woven garments were the largest group shipped to Brazil, at US$49.8 million.
Brazil's own data show US$114 million of woven clothing imported from Bangladesh in 2025, 10.2% of Brazil's woven-clothing imports and second only to China. Men's cotton trousers and shorts, at US$36.6 million, were the largest single line Brazil bought from Bangladesh, followed by men's cotton shirts and women's cotton trousers. In January–September 2026 these imports were 17.9% higher than a year earlier.
Brazil charges 35% import duty on every woven-clothing line, with no preference for Bangladesh, plus PIS/COFINS-Importação and state ICMS. Portuguese-language labelling is mandatory for imported products, so agree label content with your buyer before production.
