Bangladesh exported US$20.6 billion of knitwear in FY2025-26. US$107 million of it went to Brazil — half of all Bangladesh's exports there that year — led by pullovers and T-shirts.

Brazil's own data show US$126 million of knitted clothing imported from Bangladesh in 2025, 10.2% of Brazil's knitted-clothing imports and second only to China. Cotton T-shirts, man-made-fibre and cotton pullovers, women's knitted blouses and men's cotton knitted shirts led the trade. In January–September 2026 these imports were 25.7% higher than a year earlier.

Brazil charges 35% import duty on every knitted-clothing line, with no preference for Bangladesh, plus PIS/COFINS-Importação and state ICMS. Portuguese-language labelling is mandatory for imported products, so agree label content with your buyer before production.

Certificates such as LEED, WRAP, OEKO-TEX, GOTS and ISO can be checked in public registers. Bring your certificate numbers so buyers can verify them.
